Housing

Do you know anyone who would like to live in Bloomington? Well, do we have a deal for you....once it is cleaned out, that is!

Ryan and I have decided it is time to pack up the house and move to a space that is larger and a bit more neighborhood-y.

That being said, it is proving to be a lot more work than I originally anticipated. In the past nine years, we have amassed A LOT of stuff! So, the purging has begun and hopefully in the next couple weekends, we will have a clean house, multiple donation receipts and a full storage unit.

We do not yet know exactly where we are going to buy. This has been a small point of contention, as I would like to stay within a 10 minute drive to work, while Ryan wants to head further south, where our money will go a little further towards a larger home. I think we will be happy as long as the schools are good, but my trusty little Toyota may need some work if we decide to make it a longer commute in the AM.

Our current house is getting a much needed interior facelift, with a painter putting a fresh coat of paint in most rooms, new carpet installed in the basement (Thanks, Hugo), and the bathroom upstairs getting new grout and sealant. If anyone knows how to fix a couple pieces of siding that need to be replaced, send them our way! Not quite sure how that project will go!

The process is quite intimidating (to me), even though I realize that people move all the time and it is not a really big deal. All the work that has to go into packing up and looking for a new house is causing a bit of stress in our house. It is going to be for the best, finding a new place, I just hope we don't kill each other in the process! (Kill might be too strong a word, perhaps hoping we still like one another when all is said and done would be a better way to phrase this).

The kids are finding all of this exciting and, during the few house tours they have been to, were quick to choose their new room in each house and make themselves at home! Annalee wants a pink room and was sorely disappointed when the painter at our house painted her little room a neutral green. Jack's room did not get painted, so he was even more bummed! Oh well!

So, that's what is going on this month! Hope everyone is well and happy!
